Learning Equals to Past Experiences and Present Activities

All of us in this world know that we can learn variety of information by engaging in different ways and strategies of learning. It is not true that we can have learning only through studying in school or anywhere. We can also gain learning or knowledge through experiences.

Constructivist theory is a theory which states that learning is based on past experiences. It also states that students choose only the information that can be integrated with these experiences. I absolutely agree about what is being stated since what we had learned or experienced helps us to mold and understand the future as well as the activities that we need to engage. Through those experiences, students would have the freedom to select or choose what important past learning or experience fits to the present and future way of learning. If the students will have this freedom, they can create their own new ideas about a certain topic. They can also construct their own learning by using those past experiences and relate it with present incidents.

In short, the theory conveys that the starting point of learning is the experience from the past which makes the students new knowledge. Therefore, this theory is one of the important theories nowadays.
